Too busy to care about your pet - Dr. Nance was Juneau's only bird vet, and had seen our parrot before, but when an emergency happened this week rude receptionists on 3 occasions lets us know Dr. Nance no longer wanted to see birds, and that "he was really busy and doesn't have any openings until the end of march anyways". I then spent severals days seeking help from outside southeast alaska. When I finally able to get an avian vet in Seattle to provide a diagnosis and treatment via phone/email, Dr. Nance was still unwilling to help, despite this being his patient. This meant more wasted time and searching for a new vet in town who would at the very least take an xray and follow some of the avian vet's instructions. Thank goodness for Dr. Smith at Tongass Vet, who's heart was big enough to help us. Dr. Smith mentioned he was booked until the end of May but couldn't stand by. Dr. Nance should take note. Our beloved companion is now dead, and Southeast Alaska Animal Medical did nothing to help. They were too busy to care.
